Guided by expert keepers, you may feel the tough texture of a rhino’s skin, hand-feed giraffes, meet lions, tigers, and sun bears, interact with meerkats and endangered tree kangaroos, and even step inside a cheetah enclosure for an up-close encounter. You’ll also explore off-display reptile collections, hand-feed various primates, and help prepare enrichment such as hiding breakfast for the sun bears—all experiences far beyond what an average zoo visitor ever sees. While the WOW experience aims to include a wide variety of animals, all interactions are dependent on animal health, interest, time, and operational needs. Guests must check in at Jamala Wildlife Lodge reception, and masks may be required when working with certain primate species.
