I liked the fact that they didn't destroy the statues which were part of Budapest's history anyway.
Bit of a trek from the centre of Budapest, but a great visit if you have the time. The site gives a nice picture of the suburban side of Budapest, yet buses easily connect you to the central transit network. Greatly interesting for exploring such a period in Hungary's history
Nice little memorium place to visit. Cummunist leaders statues inside. Entry tickets can be bought at reception. Here you will also find little souvenir shop. The place isn't big, it's open field. Good little detour heading into Budapest if coming from the Balaton Lake or from Austria. There's a dirt coach parking just right after the entrance. Could be more information about the statues.
So communist, they even charge 8 euros for a couple of signs... Remarkable!
You can get their via Public Transport from Deak Ferenc Square in the centre of Budapest. Take tram 47 or 49 to the shopping centre/bus terminal then take Blue bus 150 to the park, about 25 stops. Reverse for return buy tickets in advance or on the transport , tram 350HUF, Bus 450HUF each journey. Very interesting park when you get their, you must watch the movie reels about life in communist Hungary, amazing.
