Experience the fascinating world of animal care with our Behind the Scenes Enrichment Tour, designed to show how we keep our animals mentally and physically stimulated. Over two hours, you and your family will learn about the history and importance of enrichment in zoos, and gain hands-on experience creating toys and treats for the animals. You’ll visit the behind-the-scenes enrichment room and see how our keepers design and implement engaging activities that support the wellbeing of our animals, giving you a unique insight into the dedication and expertise required in modern animal care.

Each tour includes zoo entry, guidance from an experienced keeper, and all materials needed to make specialised enrichment items. You will then deliver your creations to the animals, alongside pre-made enrichment pieces, and enjoy front-row seats to two keeper-led training sessions across the zoo. This interactive and educational experience is perfect for families, animal enthusiasts, or anyone curious about the inner workings of a zoo and the creative ways we support our animals’ physical and mental health.
