Quite hard to find a space until you reach really high level. But this car park at least accepting foreign credit card for payment.
As a student, I have been using this car park on a weekly basis for the last 2 years and did not have issues with. But this year it has been extremely messy, there is a very rude member of staff and as students , in order to avail of students discounts all we used to have to do is validate our parking ticket at the college's reception and introduce it in the paying machine, in the car park. But in the last 2 weeks , one week for a few of us they tried to charge full price and after many attempts of explaining that we were students , we had to present our student cards and we were offered another price. The following week, this Wednesday, all the paying station machines were not working so at 9:30 pm we had to queue for quite a while to pay for our parking fee and a different price was asked and the man was not accepting cash either until i mentioned that cash is still legal in Ireland and that he cannot simply choose to ask only for card as he was holding the queue by arguing with another girl in front of me due to this. He ended up accepting cash after. It is just very unnecesarily stresfull and paying for parking should just be an easy process, without all this fuss and paying every week a different price for the same amount of time.
A 40% price increase in overnight parking is extortionate and totally unwarranted. Dublin City centre are looking to attract and keep customers in the city, not drive them away. I used to use it twice a week. Am now looking around, as are my friends who use it just as often if not more.
