I visited Taronga Zoo today with my big family, and it was my second time there. This is definitely one of the must-do experiences in Sydney. The vibes were amazing! We went around midday, which isn’t really the ideal time to visit. If you want to see the animals more active and relaxed, it’s better to go either in the morning or later in the afternoon. That way, you’ll have a better chance of spotting most of them — including the lions. We did manage to see the lion, but only for a short while. The seal show was absolutely amazing — you can’t afford to miss it! The energy, tricks, and connection between the trainers and seals were so fun to watch. My kids absolutely loved it — from the animals to the shows, they were excited the whole time. It’s such a great place for families to spend the day together. It was so much fun overall — from boarding the ferry to the very last moment. I missed taking the cable car on the way back, which I really recommend because it offers stunning views of Sydney Harbour and the Opera House. Such a great experience — can’t wait to go again!
I had an amazing time at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney! Definitely best to go for a full day to get the most out of it. The ferry across from Circular Quay was beautiful with great views of the opera house on the way (roughly 15 minute ferry transfer) Once we arrived there was a slight wait for the bus to travel up to the entrance - you can walk up but it’s a fair distance to the top and I found it was nice to work you way down the zoo from the top to the bottom. Lots of animals to see and experiences with close encounters. Only downside really was the food which was a bit average but not terrible all things considered.
This is a self-guided tour, as there is no tour guide. However, my husband and I really enjoyed our time at Taronga Zoo. The zoo is well-organized and easy to explore at our own pace. We had plenty of time to see a wide variety of animals and take photos along the way. The booking includes both zoo admission and round-trip ferry tickets, which made the trip very convenient. The ferry ride itself was a wonderful experience, offering great views of the Sydney Harbour. We also loved the beautiful view of the Sydney Opera House from the zoo—it’s truly breathtaking. Overall, it was a relaxing and memorable day, and we would definitely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Sydney.
