Eden Whale Watching Cruise

Eden is recognized as one of Australia’s top whale watching destinations, offering visitors a chance to witness majestic humpback whales along the stunning South Coast. Whale watching cruises operate from late May to mid November, following the whales as they migrate north from Antarctica to the Great Barrier Reef and return south later in the year. During this time, whales can often be seen in Twofold Bay, including humpback, southern right, minke, blue, brydes, and orca. August and September are prime months for observing lateral lunge feeding, one of the few places in the world where this spectacular behavior can be witnessed. Other marine life such as dolphins, fur seals, penguins, flying fish, sunfish, and turtles are frequently spotted, along with sea birds including albatross, shearwaters, sea eagles, and gannets.

This two hour cruise departs from Eden and operates on a custom built vessel with ocean access, viewing decks, live commentary, and onboard toilets. Passengers are encouraged to arrive twenty minutes prior to departure and to bring warm clothing, a camera, sunglasses, and seasickness precautions. Complimentary refreshments are provided onboard.
