RYA Coastal Skipper Practical (Sail)

The RYA Coastal Skipper Practical (Sail) is an intensive five-day live-aboard course designed for experienced sailors ready to progress into confident coastal and offshore skippers. Taught in small groups by an RYA Senior Instructor, this hands-on program develops the advanced leadership, navigation, yacht-handling, and decision-making skills needed to manage challenging passages by day and night. With a strong focus on real-world application, you’ll take charge of the yacht in progressively more demanding conditions, strengthening your ability to plan and execute safe, well-managed coastal journeys.

Set along the stunning Costa Blanca, the course offers an exceptional sailing environment across Dénia, Jávea, Moraira, Altea, and potentially Ibiza—depending on weather. Dénia’s authentic maritime culture, four marinas, and UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy designation make it an inspiring base for advanced training. When not at sea, you’ll enjoy world-class local cuisine and the region’s traditional charm. By the end of the week, you’ll be ready to undertake longer, more complex passages and earn your RYA Coastal Skipper practical certificate—an important step toward the prestigious Yachtmaster qualification.
