Unfortunately, our stay at Blackpool Hotel wasn’t as pleasant as we had hoped. The arrival was warm and friendly, and the room was spacious with beautiful views over the pool and tea fields. truly a stunning setting. The location itself is fantastic. However, the condition of the room was quite dated, with old carpet and many signs of wear. The biggest downside was the dining experience. There was no buffet, only a set menu (likely due to low occupancy). We explicitly asked in the afternoon which dishes could be prepared non-spicy, and were assured everything could be made mild. We checked again twice at dinner and received the same answer ,but the food still arrived extremely spicy. When we mentioned it, the staff looked confused and walked away laughing. Only after asking again, we received a new and not that spicy dish. We were still eating around 9:30pm (the restaurant is open until 10pm), but the staff had already started eating their own meals, which felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. The next morning, breakfast was served until 10am, but we were called at 9am asking why we hadn’t come yet. When we said we still had time, the response we got was “ah okay” which felt odd for a guest interaction. Breakfast was again a set menu. okay, but nothing special. Asking for a glass of water resulted in tap water instead of bottled, which isn’t ideal for travelers. Overall, this was a disappointing stay, which is unfortunate, because the setting and views are truly wonderful. With better service and food experience and listening to the guests. this hotel could be better, but at the moment it falls short. Definitely no 4 star quality.

Stayed for a night. Had another large group staying at the same time so checkin took a while. Room was spacious and had everything needed including a room heater and a fan for when it might be needed. I was allotted a room that directly looked at the roof of the restaurant in the adjoining building. Why would you book a resort stay for a night that too 15 mins away from the city if your room had no views. Only solution provided was to move to a room that had known water leakage issue, how can that even be an option? Food was good, staff accepted customization requests on live counters. Service was very prompt. Since it was a bit crowded when dinner Service started, we decided to explore the game room. A staff member made sure to reserve a table for us as soon as it was available and climbed 2 floors to inform us about it, thats customer service:D The place has some in-your face kind of reminders about not taking "souvenirs " from room when you leave and that water bottles will be refilled only when you return the exact number of empty bottles kept in the room Overall verdict, not a "should not miss" kind of stay, if you are traveling through Lanka, you would see better natural surroundings on the way than what this place offers. Infact I spotted a few better places while on the way back

Very nice place, the room is very clean, the food is good and the f&b team is also very friendly, I had a waffle yesterday morning, it was very tasty and cooked perfectly. I remember Upeshala made it for me, it was really tasty. I must say Sakuni in f&b gave us good service, we had a wonderful weekend during our stay here.
