We had the best experience with Nelson from Sodade. He was the best tour guide and even convinced us to join the turtle tour (one of the best wild experiences of my life)
Overall dissapointed in this trip. We started out quite hopefull, we were picked up by a nice driver and the photographer of the day, who were both very kind. We were told that we would meet the guide later because he was in another mini van. Even though according to get your guide the tour would be consisting of 12 persons max, we had a group of 26. We were quite rushed in our visit of the different spot and there was little to no communication on what time the group needed to return to the minivans, resulting in everyone waiting a lot. We also were unaware of what was happening on different spots because the guide was in another van, apparently we had an extra swim spot, even though we were well past lunch time. Our biggest let down of the day was the meal though. During on of the last stops we were suddenly given a menu and told that we needed to pre order the food. The menu was not very enticing to us, furthermore the prices were quite steep and it was already about 3 pm so we figured we would skip an actual lunch. When we arrived in the last village, we expected to have an hour off (in which you could get lunch) to explore the city. When we asked the guide, when everybody was entering the restaurant he had arranged, what time we needed to be back, he told us 30 to 40 minutes. We ended up returing after 30 minutes, to wait for another hour without any information from the guide. After asking him about it, he told us it was not on him to blame, we decided to not go to the restaurant. This felt like a tourist trap, the other people that were not joining the restaurant either, mentioned it felt like the guide "was punishing" us by making us wait because he probably got a cut from the restaurant revenues he brought in. Lastly we also needed to pay for the sharks, even though that too was not mentioned in the Get Your Guide advert. Concluding: - group was double the size of advertised; - there were extra costs not mentioned in the advertisement; - you were forced to eat in a restaurant, if not you were punished by having to wait an extra 1 hour out in the sun; - during all the stops it was unclear what the timings were and what was to happen at the stops. I would advise to book a trip with another company. I will also inform Get Your Guide and hope the company will improve on their advertisement and keep up their promises.
We did the full day tour and had an amazing day. Aniceto was a great guide: knowledgeable, passionate about his country and super professional. Highly recommended Sodade Tour.
A very good local tour company, did a half day lemon sharks and Salinas at Pedra Lume, even got to see a turtle on our way back at Pedra Lume port. These guys know the local area so well and look after you.
Excellent local knowledge from Aniceto and a great day out. Bought the tour through 'nice guy Roy', who told us everything up front. Don't forget your swimsuit and some money for lunch. Highly recommended.
