We did a half day boat hire which cost £80 great value for money we visited devinish island and inish devar and still made it back with half an hour to spare Staff are super friendly and helpful You also get 30min safety brief and shown how to operate the boat and how to tie the boat up Will be back next season for plenty of trips
Having hired a Noble Emperor and a Noble lady we have on both occasions had a wonderful time. The boats are beautiful and very clean, the scenery on Lough Erne is stunning also the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. This holiday on the Lough truly has you away from modern life if that's what you want and if you don't that's fine too. Plenty of lovely places to eat, history and things to see and do. The best way to see Lough Erne! There is also a lesson before you leave, highly recommend.
We were back for a second year as the whole family loved it. A fantastic place for a family holiday with the option of those that don't want to go self catering staying in the hotel where there's a luxury pool. Also great boat hire is easily available and discounted. There's so much to enjoy sports wise on the premises. The bungalows are very well thought out and have everything you need like a picnic table, BBQ, ping pong, darts, mini golf... However there's no coffee pot and be well warned a dishwasher. And the washing machine takes 4x50p coins and is on the ladies toilets, 50p per 15 min on dryer, not ideal when swimming is one of the big attractions so we bought a decent laundry rack this time which we kept outside, as it was awful the first year with drying clothes indoors in the rain. It is a lot to combine a family holiday with so much washing up if the children are too young to muck in... Also the fridge is on the small side for six, but there's a fair freeze, and the shops 17 minutes away. I hope that helps you plan to enjoy it and I highly recommend it. We love the views over the lough.
We recently stayed at the manor house cottages for the second time. The setting is beautiful and the staff very helpful. Unfortunately it wasn't possible to get one of the cottages in front of the lake which we requested. It was the busiest week of the year and it was not possible. The pitch and putt and tennis were great and they have a lovely golf course. The games room is basically a garage with a darts board and table tennis. It is a very good idea but definitely needs upgrading, which could be done relatively easily. It is free to residents but if it was upgraded I would be happy to pay a small amount to use it. A small shop selling basics such as milk and bread etc would be a great addition. Also a shuttle bus to and from Enniskillen and Irvinestown would be another great addition. Without this a car is a must. All in all we had a lovely stay but with a few improvements it could be even better.
We hired a puffin boat for my partner's birthday . The experience and service was appalling . We called to let them know we were 10- 15 mins behind due to road closures. She was very rude . We should have known how things were about to unfold. When we had to request for a key to use the toilets the lady was rude and seemed very annoyed to go and get the key . We finally got out on the water to find out the boat wasn't working. There was no power and also no way to steer. After the first call the same not helpful lady in the office said they were on their way to help us. On the second call she said oh i can't see you out the window ( there was a metal building and boats in front of the window). We were directly in front of the marina. Just moving with the wind . 3rd and fourth phone call not much further on. We are so glad there wasn't a real emergency as goodness knows the outcome. When we finally got back to shore the gentleman said the lady mixed up the names and they were looking for a different boat they then confirmed the boat was in fact broken it was lifted out of the water and we were told it would be fixed with in the next 30 mins , we were not impressed as no offer of reimbursement was made . We paid for 4 hours although we were 10-15 mins late our fault over an hour was wasted floating dead in water trying to get help. We would have been lucky to have the boat for 40 mins before having to be back by 5.30. When we asked for a refund the lady said no refund as we were out for over 35 mins or more drifting dead in the water . Thankfully the gentleman that came to pick us up and get us back to shore agreed to the refund . All in all a poor experience all round . No form of polite customer service from what appeared to be the senior lady working . She was rude, condescending, unpleasant and everything seemed to be a bother to her. Not a pleasant experience at all . Thankfully we did get a refund but wasted a day driving to the place for a float and rescue on the water. Would not recommend .
