We attended The Four Seasons, Emperor Concerto & Chopin concert in the Mirror Chapel. The one star is for the beautiful venue — the Mirror Chapel itself is worth seeing. Unfortunately, the performance felt more like a rehearsal than a concert. The group was not in harmony, and some of the instruments were out of tune. We were seven people, and all of us had the same impression — quite disappointing overall.
Prague Classical Concerts has been wonderful making my original concert bookings and correcting a problem with a different booking. I highly recommend them for providing your concerts tickets while you are in Prague.
THE FOUR SEASONS, EMPEROR CONCERTO & CHOPIN IN MIRROR CHAPEL WITH PIAN0 The concert itself was enchanting. The musicians were engaging, polished, and clearly loved what they were playing. The Mirror Chapel is beautiful, with acoustics that remind you why Mozart himself once performed here. Five Stars ⭐️ But oh, the audience! Between the gum-smacking, chatting, and a forest of glowing cell phones held aloft, the atmosphere suffered. Each member of the family recording footage destined never to be watched again. Cell phones waved up high in every row ahead. Distracting doesn’t begin to cover it. A simple “take your Instagram selfie now, then put it away” rule would transform this from a circus of screens into the sublime experience the musicians have worked so hard to provide to the audience. Oh and a simple reminder that Mozart did not intend for the accompaniment of chewing gum being smacked incessantly during Lacrimosa.
Event attended : Christmas Classic Spectacular Royal Czech Orchestra (chamber) Klementinum St. Salvator Church - Main Church | Classical Music Date attended : 26/12/2023 at 18:00 I give 1 star for the effort made by the musicians to try and deliver a performance in an ice cold location and by the staff at entrance to try and cope with a manual seat allocation process. The acoustic is of the church is not great, the seating either. The price is not fair for such a location.
We attended “The Best of Christmas Concert with Carols” at The Municipal House while in Prague for Christmas 2019. It was held in such a beautiful, historic concert hall. We thought the singing and playing was awesome. We loved the casual feel of just them in black on stage with no extra frills and decorations. There was just one sweet little Christmas tree over to the side. The sound was really nice in the hall, and we were happy we attended.
