Kayaking the Dewil Mangrove River was an incredible experience. Our guide was Kuya Ondo who also runs the organization working hard to protect and rehabilitate this amazing place. We took a trike from Eco Sanctuaries in Nacpan, about a 55-minute ride. We arrived around 8am, close to high tide, which meant we got to paddle through the stunning mangrove “tunnel.” It was amazing to see the mangroves and the wildlife up close. After that, we headed out into the quiet, untouched bay on Palawan’s east side, opposite from El Nido and so there are basically zero tourists anywhere nearby. Kuya’s passion and deep knowledge about the mangrove ecosystem really stood out. This tour isn’t just peaceful and fun, it’s also helping protect this beautiful area and support the local community. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves nature and wants to make a positive impact. Tip: Wear a long sleeve rash guard. I didn’t get bit at all while kayaking the river, but on the boardwalk and paddling through the “tunnel”, there are mosquitoes.

A fantastic place! Worth visiting and seeing. River cruise + footbridge walk through the mangrove forest - a very cool experience. You will get a lot of interesting and valuable information from the people who take care of and plant the mangroves. It really is worth it!

Great day out. Its about an hour from El Nido and it is not busy at all. The cost of the tour goes to local that support the community. It is boat tour with short walk between the mangroves. Guides are lovely and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend.

Very nice place, and the fact that the community does plant more mangrove trees every year is amazing. Tour lasts for about 1.5 hours, with a little walk in the forest and the boat ride. They charged me 1000 because I was on my own, don’t know what the group price is, but I didn’t mind because the money goes to the local people anyway.

We visited on our last full day in El Nido. It was another great tour experience, outside of the busy town and something different than the island hopping tours. I liked being able to visit a spot preserving the natural beauty and ecosystem of the islands. Very knowledgeable and kind guides. Very nice to get a fresh coconut at the end of the tour. On our return adventure, we will definitely check out snorkeling. The reefs are supposed to be beautiful!
