Hiking in Batak Tribal Village tour

This immersive tour offers a unique opportunity to experience the culture and traditions of the Batak people, one of the indigenous groups of the Philippines, through a 1.5-hour guided jungle trek to their remote village nestled in the mountains of Palawan. As you walk through the lush forest trails, you’ll get a glimpse of the natural environment that the Batak community has called home for generations. Upon arrival, visitors are welcomed into the village, where they can observe the traditional way of life, interact with community members, and learn about their customs, beliefs, and daily practices that are slowly fading with time.

This experience is part of a sustainable tourism initiative aimed at preserving the cultural heritage of the Batak people while creating meaningful livelihood opportunities for the community. The Batak Visitor Center and Cultural Village were established to support this effort, and local artisans from the Kultura Batak Tourism Producers Cooperative create and sell handmade crafts and souvenirs directly to visitors. These purchases help support the local economy and maintain traditional practices. The tour includes hotel pick-up and drop-off for accommodations located within Puerto Princesa city proper; however, additional charges apply for transfers from hotels located outside the city center.
