We were there at 10 am on Sunday and it was already open. No tickets are needed. Enter is free. The trick is to be there before 11 and avoid the crowding caused by tour buses from Tbilisi and Yerevan. It’s hard to describe in words how beautiful this place is. Surrounded by lovely hill, it’s very peaceful.

The Haghpat monastery is a UNESCO site which is beautiful, quiet and spiritual. We visited in October when the valley around was in different shades of yellow. Take a moment and enjoy the beauty around you. The altar is calm and peaceful. Entrance is free

It was an absolutely amazing experience. The guide Nina has so much knowledge about the visited places. She informed us enough but was careful not to overdo it. Places visited were beautiful. Nice Weather was icing on the cake. Punctuality was exceptional. Support at immigration was excellent. Lunch which was free was one of the best I ever had as part of any excursions I ever did. Energetic, vibrant and delightful Nina helped and supported everyone tirelessly. Ten out of ten from me. Only one suggestion is to ensure that vehicle’s windows are clean and clear as scratches make it difficult to take photos on the move.
