We loved the Providence WaterFire show. We took a boat ride and loved the lively atmosphere filled with music and the fire show. The River Walk was packed with people enjoying the show and the local food stalls. We even picked up a souvenir from the glass blowing tent.

Riverwalks seem to be all the rage in urban development in recent decades and I have walked along a lot of them and this one is among the better ones I have visited..it seems like it developed culturally over time rather than the brainchild of some urban development. Gurus to attract tourists. I went in the evening which I attributed to the easy time I had parking and accessing it. When was the last time you drove into the downtown area of any city and found a parking spot on the street directly in front of the restaurant you were going. Haha. Hey it was beautiful. Providence has always been a drive through city for me going between NY and Boston. I also learned about waterfront events they have and plan on attending one of thise

Really nice place to go walking around. People were dancing on Sunday night. Nice family atmosphere

11.9.24 We found free street parking by Providence Athenaeum and walked down a block to do our walk around the river. Our other option was to park in the garage by the mall. This is an easy walk that's good for all ages with many spots for photos. You'll walk under bridges, see gondola boat rides (in nice weather), murals, windmills, and beautiful buildings. If walking alone, just be aware of your surroundings. After all, this is a city that's busy with locals and visitors.

This a very nice of the downtown area to go for a walk. It's right next to the river so the views are amazing. This was my 1st time visiting this city and definitely enjoyed my time there. If you plan on visiting definitely take a walk through here.
