I have done 2 courses here - a five week hand-building and a weekend mix of hand-building/using the wheel. The studio is spacious, well run and clean. It also has a lovely atmosphere. The teachers (Lily, Noel, and Simon) were all great. I'll definitely be back!

I can't recommend the studio enough if you're looking to try your hand at pottery. I've done two 5-week wheel-throwing courses a few months apart with Vinh and he's a brilliant teacher. He gave us really clear instruction and demos as well as kind and helpful encouragement, and he helped all of us to improve and to come away with things we were really proud to have made. The studio space is warm and welcoming, the courses are great value for the amount of time and expertise you get and I'll definitely be back.

Throwing shapes is truly a fantastic addition to not only its surrounding community in D8 but also to anyone looking to be part of a social and creative studio. To find a state of the art, open access community ceramic studio with an atmosphere like Throwing Shapes is a real treasure. Whether you are a total beginner or a seasoned potter it is an inclusive environment where everyone is willing to help one another learn. I was there on the opening night and Siofra and all the team have done a fantastic job since to sustain the energy that was exuding at the launch party and following markets! I have since completed a five week throwing class with Vinh which was excellent. His attention to detail and style of teaching allows everyone to feel like they are progressing their skills from throwing to glazing with some nice pieces to take home at the end. I would recommend anyone with an interest to drop in or check out their next market to see all the artists creations from this Studio.

Throwing Shapes is an amazing facility for Dublin! The classes are great and the membership is fantastic. I did the intensive weekend throwing class with teacher Simon and loved it so much I started a membership at the studio. It’s very accessible for beginners, great range of equipment and everyone is really helpful.

I did the wheel throwing taster class this weekend and absolutely loved it! From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and inspired. The studio is spacious and well-equipped, with a calm and encouraging atmosphere that made it easy to focus and enjoy the class. The teacher, Noel, was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, guiding us through each step (multiple times). Noel was so helpful and enthusiastic, he made sure that everyone had a piece to take home at the end! It was also amazing to see other students/members creations around the studio! Dublin City really needed a creative space like this and I’m already looking forward to signing up for another class/course. I highly recommend this class for anyone looking to try something new or improve their pottery skills! It was a gorgeous way to spend a Saturday afternoon ☺️
