This immersive journey invites you to explore the natural heart of Kauai, where sweeping landscapes, towering cliffs, and lush forests showcase the island’s most breathtaking beauty. Your adventure begins with a scenic drive through the countryside, rising toward the remarkable Waimea Canyon, often described as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. Along the way, you will visit the famous Spouting Horn Blowhole and wander through charming Hanapepe, where sugar cane fields and historic landmarks paint a peaceful picture of old Hawaii. Guests enjoy time at Koke’e Lodge for a relaxing lunch break and a moment to appreciate the cool mountain air. The experience continues with a gentle nature walk in Koke’e State Park, where native flora and rare forest birds create a serene and unforgettable setting. Stunning viewpoints reveal the full scale of Waimea Valley and the surrounding rugged cliffs. You will also visit the newly unveiled statue of King Kaumualii at the historic Russian Fort before concluding your day at the Kauai Coffee Plantation. Here, you can stroll among the coffee trees, discover the journey from bean to cup, and taste the rich flavors grown on the island’s fertile lands.

Like a smaller version of the Grand Canyon only a lot greener! Helicopter is the best way to experience this. Still it's quite breathtaking even from the roadway.
Justin

Absolutely stunning and worth the drive even from the East side! Even though the first lookout is currently closed, you can drive about 2 miles past it and pull off and get basically the same view with no one else around.

A definite must see. We actually went up twice this trip. Lots of people were hiking. We didn’t but went and saw it. Beautiful weather. Be careful one tourist climbed up the side of a hill and if he had fallen when it slipped it would have been over. Enjoy.

Very lovely state park, up high in the mountains with spectacular views of the canyon and Napali Coast. It is a two lane road up to the summit making it a fairly easy drive if you stay in the speed limit. The Koke’e Lodge restaurant and Museum is near the top in a grassy meadow. They lodge has a full restaurant and bar with an adjoining gift shop. The museum has good coverage of the park history and local wildlife. Lots of available hiking trails but both the Waimea Canyon Overlook and the overlook at the very end of the road were closed for what must be repairs. This was a disappointment. Have fun on your visit

Lots of pull offs on the way up with some spectacular views. Park has three view points and some hiking trails. Note some people weren't paying. Pay to park $10 then pay $5 per visitor. If your not hiking stop is less then ten minutes. Bathrooms on site
