Experience an in depth, small-group journey through Boston’s original neighborhoods, uncovering the full story of the American Revolution from the city’s founding to the Declaration of Independence. Unlike most tours that follow the Freedom Trail in a random order, this experience takes a holistic approach, weaving together the city’s history in the sequence it actually unfolded. Along the way, we visit 14 iconic landmarks, as well as hidden historic sites, to create a seamless and immersive narrative that brings the Revolution to life. Through expert storytelling, we explore the drama, passions, and personalities that shaped America’s birth.
This tour isn’t just about checking off stops along the Freedom Trail it’s about fully understanding the events, people, and ideas that fueled the Revolution. Instead of costumed actors or scripted performances, we offer expert insights paired with a light-hearted sense of humor, making history engaging and accessible. By stepping into the streets where history happened, you’ll gain a deeper connection to the struggles and triumphs of Boston’s past while seeing how they continue to shape the city today.
Beyond its rich history, Boston is a vibrant and evolving metropolis, and this tour offers a unique perspective that blends the past with the present. As you walk through the city, you’ll not only experience the charm of old Boston but also get a sense of its dynamic, modern character. From historic landmarks to bustling neighborhoods, this tour provides a complete picture of Boston as both the birthplace of a revolution and a thriving, world class city.
The city is mostly flat but we cover a lot of ground so walking shoes are recommended. Please monitor the forecast. Boston can be windier and cooler than expected so an additional warm layer is usually a good idea. Food, drink, and photography are all allowed.

This is the Revolutionary War tour you’ve been looking for. This is the one. Mike is incredibly knowledgeable, funny, and articulate. This tour was truly epic and on multiple occasions throughout, both my husband and myself found ourselves getting emotional with the story. If you find yourself in Boston and you have an appetite for history, I HIGHLY recommend this tour.

This is hands down the best walking tour I have ever done. Mike made Boston's amazing history interesting for both myself and my history-loving husband. He has great pride in his hometown and a vast knowledge of American history and it really shows. If you get a chance to stop in Boston for a day, this would be the first thing I would recommend for you to do!

The walking tour with Dr Rob Lawson was Exceptional! One of the best tours we have ever taken. He was very well informed and knowledgeable and could thoroughly answer any question asked of him. Rob was animated and kept the subject matter interesting and fun. I intend to recommend this tour to our travel agent and friends who are traveling to Boston. This tour was well worth the price of the ticket. Thank you for such a wonderful and educational tour!

The Freedom Trail walking tour was an unforgettable experience, thanks to our incredible guide Mike, whose knowledge, passion, and energy brought Boston’s history vividly to life. With a small group of just 12 people, the tour felt personal and engaging as we covered an impressive amount in just 3.5 hours. This was an outstanding, five-star experience from start to finish—highly recommended!

The best tour! Mike is a talented, knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. This tour MADE our trip to Boston special. The city's story is really special and Mike takes the tour through the historical landmarks and tells the interwoven story of the birth of a nation against the backdrop of modern day Boston. The history comes alive and is very engaging. Well worth an afternoon and makes any trip to Boston extra memorable.
