Join a local guide on a small-group one-day journey from Bucharest to Constanta, the ancient city of Tomis, for a memorable experience filled with history, discovery, and coastal charm. Established at the crossroads of major trade routes, Constanta lies on the western shores of the Black Sea and holds centuries of stories within its streets. As you travel from Bucharest, you will cross the impressive bridge over the Danube and pass notable landmarks before reaching this historic seaside city. Once there, explore Constanta’s Old Town, a captivating blend of Roman vestiges, Greek foundations, and Ottoman influences. From the ancient ruins and vibrant harbor to the timeless architecture, every corner tells a tale of its remarkable past and enduring cultural legacy.

During the tour, you will visit several of Constanta’s most iconic attractions, including the Museum of Archaeology and History, home to artifacts from the Greek and Roman periods, and the Roman Edifice with Mosaic, a stunning relic of ancient craftsmanship. Admire the statue of Ovidius in the lively Ovidiu Square, climb the Minaret Tower of the Muslim Mosque for panoramic city views, and marvel at the Byzantine beauty of the Orthodox Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul. A visit to the Constanta Aquarium offers a glimpse of Romania’s marine life, rounding off the day with both education and wonder. With a friendly, knowledgeable guide and a small group atmosphere, this tour provides a perfect balance of culture, architecture, and scenic exploration before returning to Bucharest in the evening.

We recently took the Small Group Day Trip to Dracula’s Castle, Brașov, and Peles Castle from Bucharest, and it was excellent. Our guide, Serban, was very knowledgeable and he shared facts about Romania in general and everything we saw along the way and at each stop. He was also very friendly and willing to answer all kind of questions. The schedule was tight (there’s a lot to cover in one day, after all), so timing had to be strict, but in our case that was never a problem. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend both this tour and Serban. If you want to see a lot in a day, learn a lot, and enjoy reliable, friendly guidance — this is a great choice.

We booked a day tour from Bucharest to north Bulgaria which was extremely wonderful and has an unbeatable value too. It contains a visit to the UNESCO site Veliko Tarnovo fortress, and several off the beaten path stone churches, an experience of life time! Our guide Serban is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, he also has an outgoing personality which made the long trip fun and exciting. A must do, highly recommended!

1. This is a long day. Be prepared to leave your pick up point before 8AM and return to Bucharest around 9PM. 2. Bus ride is comfortable but wear your seat belt. You will be going on a lot of switchback roads in the mountalns. 3. There is a lot of walking, steps, and inclines to navigate. Some of the spaces in the castles are narrow walkways and doorways. 4. Two castles: Peles Castle was the highlight. Bran Castle is good but not as good as Peles. The Dracula stuff in Bran Castle is kind of cheesy. 5. You have to go on the websites for Peles and Bran Castle ahead of time and buy entry tickets. They are not included in the tour payment. We had two people on our tour that did not get to go in Peles because they did not have prepaid entry tickets. 5. When you buy tickets for Bran, buy castle entry and torture exhibit tickets. DON'T BUY THE ELEVATOR TICKETS. The elevator is a tourist trap kid thing. 6. The order of the events if Peles Castle, Brasov city center, and Bran Castle. Be ready for the last two to be swapped depending on traffic. 7. We bought a slice of pizza, beer, and water at Peles for $11. There is stuff to eat at the other two places but it seemed touristy expensive. 8. Be sure to nave all tour guides show you bathroom locations at all places. 9. Don't wait until the very end of the leave times to buy food, souvenirs, or use the bathroom. Do all this 15 minutes before your tour guide says to be back and ready to leave. 10. Our guide was very knowledgeable about all locations. She even made an unscheduled stop on the last stretch back to Bucharest for bathroom and snacks because it was a long ride home.

An absolutely wonderful guided tour to Peleș Castle, Bran Castle and Brașov, led by the very knowledgeable and charismatic tour guide and driver, Șerban Riga. Not only does he lead the castle tours in Transylvania, but also many other locations across Romania. This trip around Transylvania has been wonderful, though it is Șerban Riga as a tour guide which really made this such a great experience. His company has brought out the best everywhere where we have visited, he has allowed us to stop wherever we want to take photos of the scenery of the Carpathian mountains, and his friendliness and rich knowledge of Romanian history has brought everywhere to life. If you wish to travel with Travel Maker Bucharest, make sure to request Șerban Riga as a tour guide for the best experience of history and culture.
