Discover the best of Porto and its surroundings on this full-day sightseeing tour. We’ll start with a convenient hotel pick-up and head to the impressive Porto Cathedral, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Douro River and the city’s oldest district. Next, visit the famous São Bento Train Station to admire its beautiful blue-tile panels, followed by a stop at the vibrant Bolhao Market to experience the local food culture and regional specialties. Continue past the Clerigos Tower and visit the iconic Lello Bookstore, one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world. From there, we’ll drive through the charming Miragaia neighborhood and along the river to Foz do Douro, where the river meets the Atlantic Ocean.
After visiting the historic district of Foz Velha, we’ll follow the scenic coastal roads to Matosinhos for a one-hour lunch break. Then, we’ll return along the riverbank, cross the bridge into Vila Nova de Gaia, and stop at a viewpoint with stunning views of both Porto and Gaia. You’ll see the famous Port Wine cellars before heading to the fishing village of São Pedro da Afurada, known for its fresh seafood and local traditions. Great experience for a half day tour of the Douro Valley! Andre was wonderful, knowledgeable, and was a great tour guide and driver. We also loved Pedro and the dogs at the vineyard! We had a lovely time and the wine was fantastic. We would book again in a second!
Such a great experience! Luis made our tour so much fun and this day was a highlight of our trip. The boat ride through the valley was informative and beautiful. The wine tasting was intimate and relaxing, with their wines labelled after the dogs that we got to spend time with during the visit. Everyone was so lovely and warm during every phase of our day and cannot recommend this tour enough!!
The experience exceeded my expectations. The two wineries we visited were excellent and very unique. Jorge was an excellent tour guide, DJ, historian and driver. He really has impeccable taste which made the experience all the better.
