Begin in the medieval town of Óbidos, completely surrounded by ancient walls and exuding old-world charm, with a guided tour led by a local expert. Wander through narrow cobbled streets, explore the secret Jewish neighborhood with its whitewashed houses, and stroll along Rua Direita, lined with shops and traditional restaurants, before reaching the Castle of Óbidos, one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal, where you can admire the impressive walls and panoramic views of the town. Continue to the famous fishing town of Nazaré, visiting the Forte de São Miguel, known for its giant waves that attract surfers worldwide, and explore O Sitio, with its historic streets, religious buildings, medieval fortifications, and 17th-century churches, offering a glimpse into the town’s spiritual and architectural heritage. Conclude the day in Oporto, where after enjoying a typical Portuguese lunch on your own, embark on a vibrant walking tour through the UNESCO-listed Old Town along the picturesque Douro River, admiring landmarks such as six stunning bridges, Igreja Carmen, Estação São Bento, Igreja São Francisco, and the iconic Ponte Dom Luís, before returning to Lisbon with suggestions from your guide on further things to see and do in the city.

My husband and I had an amazing time visiting these must see places. Gui, our guide, was outstanding - very informative, fun, and friendly. The bus was very comfortable! As we didn’t have much time there, this tour was just perfect to visit these places. If I had more time, I would probably take a whole day in Porto as there is a lot to see.

We took a small group Duoro Valley wine tour with Living Tours and had a great time. I have to mention our driver/tour guide Vasco Oliveira. He is very passionate, informative, funny and clearly loves what he does. The two wineries we stopped at had spectacular views and the wine was great. The lunch they served at the second winery was very good and by far the best I've ever had from a tour with food included in the price. On the way back he even took us to an extra destination, Amarante, which was a really cute town. We got to walk across a bridge that Napoleon crossed when he was in Portugal. We then had coffee and delicious local pastries at a bakery along the river that had a perfect relaxing atmosphere

We did the Douro valley wine tour with Cuber as our tour guide and Silvino as our driver. Both were great! Cuber was very knowledgeable about every town we drove by and kept even the longer stretches in the bus entertaining and fun. Silvino was very friendly, kept the bus ride nice and smooth and navigated the tight turns expertly which as someone who gets motion sickness was amazing. Port certainly wasn’t our favorite drink in the world, but seeing the Douro valley is a must when in Porto. The river cruise was amazing and the viewpoints we stopped at were incredible. Our only knocks were the stop in Amarante was very short because we left a bit late and you don’t get lunch until about 2:00 so we had to eat a couple snacks we packed to hold us over.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Just had a complete Douro Valley Tour today and it was phenomenal. John was our guide and Michael was our driver. Cannot say enough good things about them. John went above and beyond as our guide to ensure we had the best experience, so attentive and kind. He had so much knowledge about Portugal and the Duoro wineries. Michael the driver was so sweet and we felt safe the whole day. Also the bus is super comfortable with wifi available plus awesome music. Must do in Porto. The check in was also seamless. Wineries were beautiful, the guides truly made our day special.

Our Douro Valley Wine Tour with LivingTours was incredible from start to finish. The check-in was super easy, and our guide, Rita Teixeira, made the experience even better. She was fun, laid back, and effortlessly engaging, which helped set a relaxed tone for the whole day. Rita shared just the right amount of history and wine knowledge, all while keeping things light and entertaining. The tour itself was well-paced—we visited gorgeous wineries, enjoyed delicious tastings, and took in stunning views without ever feeling rushed. Everything ran smoothly and felt well-organized. This was truly one of the best parts of our trip to Portugal. If you’re considering a wine tour, I highly recommend going with LivingTours—and if you get Rita as your guide, you’re in for a treat!

We used living tours for 2 different day trips, one guide was with Charlie to Adorigo, Favaios and Amarante, he was funny and knowledgeable. The other tour was with Christian, and the tour was to Braga and Guimarães, again really good time. I would highly recommend this touring company. It was my first time using tour guides and honestly I explored so much and learned so much more than I thought i would have otherwise. A lot of good wine haha
