John our tour guide was fantastic. He showed us around, taking my partner and I to each destination with care, smiles, and humorous stories. It was never a dull moment, time passed by while we learnt a lot about the past and recent histories of San Jorge. Furthermore, we he allowed us to stop at several places for photos, eat, and talk with locals. John is also sharp with taking photos so if you ever need a photo, John’s the guy! Highly recommend if you’re lucky to encounter him.
I did the afternoon tour with Sonia last week and it was super. Communication with John beforehand helped me get picked up straight off the Pico ferry and straight into the most stunning sights you can imagine. Sonia was a lot of fun and very knowledgeable about the island. I saw some beautiful sights - hidden lava rock pools, an amazing natural rock arch, viewpoints over the ocean, and had lunch at the cheese factory (I just ate a ton of cheese and loved it). Great tour with great company, highly recommended.
Me and my fiance had a wonderful day on our private tour! Our guide Jose was super friendly and helpful and adjusted the day to match exactly what we wanted and worked in a 5h hike in the middle of it. He picked us up from the airport and dropped us off at our preferred spot in Velas after showing us around by car. He even went with us to the harbour to make sure we could drop off our baggage. We got loads of tips for the islands that you can really only get from a local. All in all it was perfect and we couldn't recommend it more!
We booked first a 7h tour to discover the island via GetYourGuide. It's better to call instead ok booking directly. Firstly, John contacted us directly to confirm and check exactly where to pick up. We took from the airport even if it was not possible on GetYourGuide. That was great. We did the tour with Jose, he made us discover the island and was really accommodating. Even with a bad weather he managed to make us discover the island. The next day, we did a hiking and John left us at the beginning and picked us back at the end. If you are worry about the time to be picked up, don't worry. You just have to send a message to John when you know when you will be there, at least 1h before. Do not hesitate and a big thanks to Jose and John
John and his team are fantastic and the experts on the island!!! I didn’t have a car and needed his help to get to and from the airport and ferry as well and he was so helpful to make sure I was taken care of. The weather didn’t cooperate while I was there (rain) but John went out of his way to show me some cool areas and make sure I had a great experience. I would highly recommend you use them to get the most out of your time in Sao Jorge!
