Truly value for money and a must see for every tourist. Very well set up - yet low traffic means you get everything to yourself. Teaches you the history of Porto from prehistoric to present. Chocolate tour is interesting. Wine experience is great - as someone who was sceptical I gained a new appreciation from this experience. I recommend the wine experience and pink palace - you get a lot of free wine/rose. Book online for cheaper tickets - you only need the daily ticket to get the chocolate tasting and wine tasting - don’t buy them separately as it’s a little unclear on the daily ticket description.

The World of Wine is an amazing experience in the heart of northern Portugal‘s cultural and wine centre of Oporto and Vila Nova de Gaia. It will appeal to everyone, including those who aren’t wine drinkers. There are a whole series of restaurants with a view to die for across the Douro River towards the bridges and monuments of this historic city. The wine experience shouldn’t be simply viewed as a museum visit, because it’s not. Rather this takes you on a guided route through multiple aspects of the history of humanity as seen through the lens of wine and wine grapes. It may sound rather academic, but there are a whole raft of interactive stations, including several where you can test your aroma identifying skills. And of course, the entire World of Wine visit is highly Instagram worthy :) To me this is an absolute must for spending several hours to an entire day. I’d also point out the great rosé journey called The Pink Palace. What a true and new wonder here in Portugal! A must see.

We advise getting the day ticket online for around €30-€40, with the 10% discount on the food and restaurant and coupons given throughout the day, it’s great value for what you pay for. The Wine Experience was really good, Rosa, our wine experience guide, was very informative and made the presentation entertaining! The 3 wines they provide, white, red and port, were tasteful too. Planet Cork was weirdly fascinating, with interactive sections, Pink Palace was fun too. Highly recommend on your visit to Porto!

My advice, just buy a day pass. It's about the cost of seeing 2 museums, and you'll have access to all of them over 48 hours. Also check your ticket to see if it gives you 10% off at gift shops, we missed out on that. This is a fantastic place to visit if you're in Gaia. The Cork Museum was fascinating and The Wine Experience gets you a free wine tasting. So did The Pink Palace and that was honestly the most fun we've ever had in a museum. Overall great place to visit. Beautiful facility, clean washrooms and complimentary lockers. They've also got a few restaurants and a wonderful wine bar upstairs that has a beautiful view of the city, worth checking out at night time.

I went to the wine experience museum as a solo traveler and it was a perfect break from the heat and crowds. The museum and exhibition design was amazing and very impressive. I wish the wine tasting was a bit more personal but for the price it was great. We got a voucher for a free port tonic in the terrace after and it was the perfect end to the whole experience.
