Start your day immersed in a place brimming with a stirring atmosphere, beginning at one of Madeira’s most iconic viewpoints, Cabo Girão. Visit early in the morning to fully appreciate the dramatic cliffs and panoramic vistas before the area fills with buses and visitor traffic. From here, your journey continues inland to the serene mountains, where Nuns Valley (Curral das Freiras) awaits. Wander through winding pathways that weave between traditional farms, where cherry and chestnut trees coexist with vast vineyards.
As the afternoon unfolds, indulge in the local flavors that define this region. Visit one of the oldest wine cellars to taste the rich, full-bodied nectar crafted from the island’s unique grape varieties. Alternatively, savor a glass of the traditional poncha, a potent and sweet drink enjoyed by fishermen and locals alike in the village. Each sip offers a glimpse into the centuries-old traditions of Madeira, perfectly complementing the picturesque scenery that surrounds you. These experiences, from the breathtaking landscapes to the authentic flavors, are carefully curated to reveal the hidden treasures of this remarkable part of the island.

Peter

A small family run winery, this is the second tour I've done and to be truthful I believe the tour is most informative, the product is superbly made with great care and attention. The tasting was different from my first visit, very reasonably priced at €15 included in the tour (4 generous samples) if you enjoy Madeira wine I'd recommend a visit plus you get the bonus of a drive in beautiful countryside. Oh, and they don't push you to buy anything...the wine will do that job...I've started saving for something very special.

Nice wine tasting in Camara do Lobos, close to Funchal. The guy doing the tasting spoke very well English. Great explantion and history as well.

This place was recommended by our good friend, the bar manager of a Lisbon bar. For those who honour local product & hear the stories from producers, this is a must have place to visit. We were given an excellent tour of Madeira's production. Interesting, easy to understand, visual and engaging. Like most places in Madeira, the winery needs to be reached, as its location is at a considerable altitude with beautiful views. At the end of the tour, a tasting awaits you, which will hardly leave indifferent lovers of unusual alcoholic beverages, as Madeira is. Truly, this drink has the power to surprise! Recommended.

A truly hospitable experience! After 2 weeks in Madeira, Leandro made our visit the highlight of the trip. He’s accommodating, telling the stories, asks you what you like to offer the best wine. The place itself is beautiful too! We arrived earlier and waited 30 before the tour, but with the views (1600m above the sea) it was a spectacular wait! The story, the atmosphere, the hospitality makes the experience a 12/10! Very recommended ❤️
