Discover the fascinating history and hidden wonders of one of the most important industrial sites of the Middle Ages on a private guided tour of the Wieliczka Salt Mine. Your journey begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Kraków, where you will travel in comfort aboard a private air-conditioned minivan with an English-speaking driver. On arrival, you’ll be welcomed by a professional guide who will lead you deep beneath the earth’s surface into an extraordinary underground world. As you descend 800 steps to a depth of 135 meters, the air cools and the atmosphere transforms, setting the stage for a unique exploration along a specially prepared 2-kilometer route filled with stories, history, and awe-inspiring sights.
Inside the salt mine, you’ll discover much more than tunnels and chambers – this underground wonder doubles as a remarkable art museum and cultural treasure. Recognized as one of Poland’s official national Historic Monuments and inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the mine is adorned with dozens of intricate statues, striking underground halls, and four chapels carved directly out of rock salt by miners across centuries. Adding to its charm are beautiful carvings created by contemporary artists, blending the legacy of the past with modern artistry. This unforgettable tour offers not only an insight into centuries of hard work and devotion but also a chance to witness a world where nature and human creativity come together in breathtaking harmony.

We had an awfull woman guide just marched so far ahead no one could keep up , I had to remind her that we and others were English as she was just talking polish , the one ear head phone was rubbish and as she was do far away could hear a thing we were left behind twice and she watched us join the wrong group and said nothing , a total waste of time I noted other guides talking slowly so as we could understand not ours 😡, so disappointing so busy couldn’t get us in and out quick enough , and all of the staff so miserable and unfriendly, don’t recommend we done 3 other tours that were busy but amazing and organised well , there’s no way of complaining either no site no number nothing , just make sure your guide is nice if not change , and grab two headphones it might help but so poor quality 😡😡

The tourist route is crowded and fast. Too many folks fot the guide, and too many groups. There is some beautiful stuff, but overcrowded.

Visiting from the UK. We tried buying our 9 tickets online originally, and it seemed to go through but then later received a notification that the payment was rejected. We called and they send it would probably work if we tried in person. We went to the ticket stall at the mine, using a different card from someone else in our group. The woman at the ticket stall was on the phone for ages now serving anyone. When we finally got to the front we paid for our tickets and it seemed to have gone through again. It then got declined again, same as when we tried buying them online with the other card. The woman asked if she could see the card. She then proceeds to pull out a massive pair of scissors and says she is going to cut the card in half. The owner of the card was very distressed, as this is his only card he has with him. He then asked to see the manager and demanded his card back, however there was no manager available. In the end we were unable to visit the mines and wasted time coming here, all due to shocking customer service.

An interesting place for visiting, totally one of a kind. You can choose guided tours in many languages. Everything is really well organized, there is a huge amount of parking spots around which is helpful cause it's located outside of Krakow.

Great tour, shame our English speaking tour guide had a strong foreign accent and pronounced many words incorrectly, therefore, it was very difficult to understand her. I feel it is important that she needs to learn how to correctly enunciate the English language so the paying guests are able to understand. (Many English speaking people thought the same as me). Otherwise, it was a beautiful place to visit.
