Tried SUP with my family. It was the first time for my wife and daughter (7 years old) to SUP, but they were very well supported. SUP on Lake Chuzenji for private use is too luxurious. The air and water temperatures were perfect and we completely relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. They will take you back by motorized SUP, so first-timers and those who are not physically fit can feel at ease. The Finnish-style villa is clean and very cozy. Most of all, the heartwarming service of the owner is wonderful. We will definitely come back next year!
Our family of four had a brilliant time paddle boarding on Lake Chuzenji. Our guide, Joel, was a lot of fun and was very knowledgeable about the history of the entire area. Our teenagers also had a great time (which says a lot). Highly recommend if you’re in the Nikko area.
Had an incredible experience with Joel, whose energy and personality transformed a standard snowshoe hike into something truly enjoyable. Beyond the activity itself, the best part was exchanging so-called "war stories" about international life and experiences in Japan, making the time both engaging and insanely fun. Joel's enthusiasm and ability to connect on a personal level made the entire experience memorable than merely walking through the "forest" with crampons attached to our feet. More than just a guide, he was a great companion for the journey. I would absolutely do it again, not just for the activity, but because spending time with Joel guarantees an unforgettable and genuinely fun experience, no matter what we are doing.
