The staff there do not have a clue what customer service means. 1)They directed us to the wrong bus stop. When that was pointed out, they sent us to the train station, they said they were not responsible for the error. 2)They also told us that the ONLY way to get from Vesuvius to Napoli was via Pompeii (of course it wasn't). 3) They are rude in all languages (1 star is because I could not put 0)
I booked both the entrance tickets and a guided tour with Pompeii Tickets, and it was a great experience from start to finish. Everything was well organized and smooth. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and very good at keeping the whole group interested throughout the visit, explaining the history of Pompeii in a clear and engaging way. The tour really added a lot to the experience and helped us understand the site much better.

Barely a scam, some people in our group didnt speak english, but we paid for the tour anyway because they said we could buy audio guide in spanish for an extra fee, and the tour guide would tell them what number they had to press, once inside this woman told us that she didnt have any information about the audio guide, just buy the oficial ticket inside pompei. It is cheaper
it was great. There ended up not being any other people in our group so it was a private tour. Our guide was incredibly knowledgable and did a great job explaining all of the different details of Pompeii

The tour guide Vito, left us with a recommendation ( walk on the platform whilst archaeologists work ) was a highlight.
We were so very fortunate, we ended up having a private tour with our extremely knowledgeable guide Vito. Could not have asked for a better experience. Vito patiently answered all of my many questions. Was a perfect activity for my husband and myself. Only mistake I made was not allowing enough time to continue exploring the site after our tour was over. Underestimated the sheer size of the excavation needed more time than we allocated. Definitely recommend this tour!
