Celebrate your birthday with the Birthday Stroll through Florence, starting in Piazza Santa Croce under the basilica’s shadow. Your Food Ambassador welcomes you with a glass of Vernaccia DOCG, paired with traditional Tuscan crostini, from classic chicken liver and anchovy toppings to simpler versions with cherry tomatoes, olives, and truffle pâté.
The stroll continues into the Sant’Ambrogio district, where a venue reminiscent of ancient Tuscan cellars offers wines served from wooden barrels alongside regional cold cuts and cheeses, including Tuscan ham, finocchiona, lard of Colonnata, and pecorino. Wander through the neighborhood’s lively market before stopping at a family-run trattoria to enjoy two freshly made pasta dishes with a choice of traditional Tuscan sauces, paired with fine Chianti wine, celebrated worldwide and featured in films like James Bond.
The tour concludes at a local pastry shop, where you can celebrate with a personalized birthday cake and a sparkling wine toast, creating a truly memorable Florentine experience.

The first night I was signed up for the "VIP Florence Dinner Tour: Truffle Florentine Steak & Fine Wines" Really incredible food tour with Alice and Nadia. They were both so friendly, courteous, funny, and patient with our group. They gave us history lessons as we walked to our next restaurant. We had food I would have been too nervous/ignorant to order on my own. And the wine was incredible too. Really great to have the opening wines presented by the actual wine makers in their own shop. And I finally got to experience a *good* wine window (a lot of the other ones in Florence are underwhelming) The second night was the "Florence Sunset Food & Wine Tour" with Assia. She was equally as engaging and informative as Alice/Nadia. She kept us well fed and hydrated the whole time while giving us history lessons on Florence. We had a small group so we got to ask a lot of in-depth questions to a Florence native. I would do another tour with Eating Europe in a heartbeat.

My husband and I enjoyed the morning tour with Serena, an experienced and enthusiastic guide. The food of Oltrarno (delicious) and walking around the area (no tourists) gave us an expanded view of Florence. I’ve been to Florence many times over the last 50 years; it was a delight to learn new bits of history such as the wine windows that revived during Covid and the history of the food we ate. Every stop was good. Serena was an excellent guide, happy to answer questions and talk in detail about the food. I did not know anything about the development of gelato or cantucci or even Mille foglie. It was nice to see people greet her as we walked around; she made Oltrarno become a friendly village. I highly recommend this tour.

Francesco was a wonderful guide through the good and wine of Italy. He had a tremendous knowledge of the food and history we were sampling. That, combined with his superb personality made for a very enjoyable experience of Florence’s food market. The vendors were also very friendly and informative about what we were tasting. I would highly recommend this tour of Eating Europe Florence.

This was our first time doing a food tour and we had the best time!!! Valeria, our guide was top notch. She is sweet, friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. We loved the shared experience and getting to know others from the group. Food was excellent and so were all the drinks. Valeria was kind to accommodate us since we’re vegetarian. She is an outstanding guide and I highly recommend her. We have another food tour booked in Rome and I’m already excited! Grazie.

Sara P. was an absolutely wonderful guide. She was personable and knowledgeable, connecting with everyone on the tour. We brought our 10 month old daughter and she was so accommodating. The food was amazing, the drinks were great, and the locations were special. We went off the beaten path away from most of the crowds. We loved it!
