The Palatine Gallery is a truly special place, a must-see for everyone. This is no ordinary museum with white walls, but a series of state rooms where masterpieces of 17th-century European painting and the Italian Renaissance (especially works by Raphael) are hung exactly as they were collected and preserved by the Dukes of Medici and Lorraine. The most impressive aspect is the incredible opulence of the rooms themselves. Vast ceilings with gilded stucco, frescoes, and wall paintings depicting mythological scenes transform every step into an immersion in the golden age of aristocracy. The paintings are hung in a "salon" style—in several rows, from floor to ceiling, in magnificent gilded frames. This creates a sense of abundance and underscores the owners' passion for collecting. It's as if you're peering into the private collection of Florence's most powerful family. Besides the paintings, there are marble busts and sculptures, which are an integral part of the palace's interior design. The Palatine Gallery is an unforgettable experience. Here, you don't just look at art; you live it. The luxury, scale, and quality of the collection make it one of the most impressive in Florence.

We recently had the extraordinary opportunity to visit the Galleria Palatina, located inside the magnificent Palazzo Pitti in Florence. From the very first moment, this gallery envelops you in a world of opulence, refinement, and breathtaking beauty. The rooms themselves are a work of art – lavishly decorated with frescoed ceilings, gilded stucco, and antique furnishings that reflect the grandeur of Renaissance and Baroque taste. Each hall feels like a royal chamber, transporting you into the elegant world of the Medici and Lorraine dynasties. The collection is a true feast for the eyes. Masterpieces by Raphael, Titian, Rubens, and Caravaggio hang frame to frame in the traditional 19th-century style, covering the walls from floor to ceiling. It's overwhelming in the best way – an abundance of artistic brilliance that invites you to slow down and take in every detail. One of the most striking things about the Galleria Palatina is how it seamlessly blends art and atmosphere. You’re not just looking at paintings – you’re standing in the very rooms where the powerful once lived, ruled, and admired these works themselves. That sense of continuity, of being surrounded by centuries of history, is truly moving. Allow yourself plenty of time – this is not a gallery to rush through. Every room deserves attention, every painting tells a story. Enjoy your stay here and have a fantastic time! 👋

The museum is unique in that it doesn't organize artworks by period or artist. Instead, it preserves the original decorative style of the palace, with paintings densely arranged on the walls, as they would have been historically. The gallery consists of 28 rooms, each named according to its ceiling fresco and thematic focus, often symbolizing the Medici family's virtues and power. It houses an extensive collection of Renaissance and Baroque masterpieces amassed by the Medici and their successors. Highlights include works by Raphael, Titian, and Caravaggio. ※ Included in the single ticket for Palazzo Pitti collections.

This is one of the nicest museums I’ve ever visited, it has several parts to it. It has lots of amazing artwork, artifacts, paintings, statues, and much more. It has a very big collection that is very well displayed and preserved. It’s definitely worth visiting, I really enjoyed my time here and I would definitely recommend visiting this museum and its many galleries.

Beautiful palace and art gallery. Spent 3+ hours exploring the palace and gardens. Incredibly beautiful; insane amount of artwork and sculptures to see and each room is decorated from ceiling to floor with stunning details. Make sure to wear comfy shoes and charge your camera because it's worth spending a whole day here. Make sure to eat inside the canteen, to avoid extra charges!
