Absolutely fantastic guide who eats, breathes, sleeps, and lives Jerusalem. Shimon is born and raised Jerusalem to his bones, and you can feel it in the passion he brings to the tours. Anyone can memorize a bunch of historical facts, but it takes a storyteller like him to bring them alive. Shimon makes sure you get a real taste of the flavors and actually meet the people who make Jerusalem the amazing city it is. You won't be schlepped around from place to place by some guy waving an umbrella like an average tourist. With Shimon, you get a personal touch and deeper interaction with the city you traveled so far to see.
I've been to Jerusalem a few times and my partner had never been. Shimon was full of energy and also playful which meant he was a joy to be around. An absolute wealth of knowledge in all things Israel / Jerusalem history, politics, culture and food. All the local Jewish and Muslim business owners received us so warmly because he has such good relationships with them. Highly recommend!
We booked Shimon for a 4 day tour of Jerusalem, Dead Sea, Masada, and Tel Aviv and had an amazing experience. Shimon's knowledge of the overall history of Israel and specifically the Old City is impressive and engaging. I appreciated that he provided alternative science-based explanations or theories to the conventional stories and myths. Shimon also shared his favorite eating places in the Old City (the best hummus!) and Machane Yehuda food market (Shawarma and Chicken Schnitzel, and a great store for organic spices!). Other highlights were visiting the Masada rock fortress built by King Herod and floating in the Dead Sea, and a beach day in Tel Aviv. We highly recommend Shimon as a tour guide!

Not only did he show us everything we wanted to see on our trip to the Holy Land but his knowledge of historical events was incredible. The way he crafted the tour took us through, not only a religious pathway of our faith, but a historical journey explaining the evolution and transformation of Israel going back nearly 30,000 years, to its current struggles and success. Having this information and seeing the sites of religious beginnings really helps you understand why the people of Israel feel so connected to their heritage and country. Shimon left no stone unturned. His passion for his country, heritage and work gleamed through each and every day we spent with him. In addition, we always felt extremely safe. Shimon was easy to talk to and accommodating the moment I began to speak with him months before our trip.
