DAVID

We stayed in the Great Southern Killarney for two nights in Oct and couldn't recommend it enough. We loved everything from the Pool to the Pints we had at Brownes bar. We had breakfast on both days and it was top class. A great buffet selection with additional menu items. The warm open fire first thing in the morning was a nice touch. We treated ourselves to Afternoon Tea on one of the days. Favourite items were either the salmon on Guinness Bread or the Egg Brioches. We had dinner in the Arbour Restaurant and also highly recommend it. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, great menu and the room itself was worth seeing. Special mention to Mike who provided the craic anytime we enjoyed a few drinks, Majorie in the Arbour Restaurant and Jamie who we bumped into several times throughout our stay. Oh, I charged my car for free also. Chargers we're situated at the front on the hotel. Saved me the hassle of going to charge my car for the drive home.

We had a wonderful stay at the Great Southern Killarney. Check-in was smooth and welcoming, thanks to Rocio G and Brian, who were both so friendly and professional. A special thank you to Romeo & Evelyn for the thoughtful “Congratulations” plate that made our visit feel extra special. All of the staff we met were warm, engaging, and genuinely attentive. Our room was beautiful — spotless & comfortable. Breakfast was top class, with excellent variety and quality. Overall, an exceptional experience from start to finish.

We had such a fantastic stay at The Great Southern Hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff were so welcoming and professional — we even received a complimentary room upgrade, which was such a lovely surprise. Everyone we encountered was friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our stay enjoyable. The room was luxurious ,beautifully presented, warm and comfortable. Thank you to the whole team for such great service — we’ll definitely be back!

Before we had even checked in, I was blown away at the level of warmth, generosity, and professionalism we received on the phone. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the staff who were all absolutely incredible. I can’t say enough kind words regarding the level of service. Our room was absolutely gorgeous, and we immensely enjoyed all of our meals at the Arbour and drinks at Browns. Again, the service was exceptional from every single staff member. I also enjoyed a phenomenal spa treatment from Confidence who was stellar. I’ve truly never enjoyed a stay so much. Hannah, Seàn, Kathleen and Vera made us all feel so welcome and comfortable in every way. I cannot wait to go back!

Stayed here for one night and enjoyed our time. The staff were excellent and the history of the hotel, along with the old world feel inside, made it charming. This hotel originally wasn’t a planned stop for us however we had spent a few nights at the sister property (Hayfield Manor in Cork) and after falling in love with that property we decided to stay here as well. Upon arrival, we were provided a beautiful room which they graciously upgraded and they left a thank you letter with some sweets in the room. This was a lovely added touch! A room was very nice and overall a beautiful hotel however, there was no comparison to the feeling that Hayfield manner had given us. Breakfast here was very good with plenty of selection. We didn’t care for the fact that the pool and spa facilities were shared with public access, people swimming lengths which meant not just relaxing poolside for us. It’s not a complaint per se, but made for a different vibe that we weren’t expecting. Overall, this is a beautiful hotel and we very much enjoyed our stay. Five stars to the wonderful staff here!
