Completed the Mt Merbabu hike with them. Everything went super smoothly and as comfortable as a nature hike could get. This was thanks to our hospitable and experienced guide, Ramli and our porter Doto. Also special thanks to our driver Arya who drove us long hours while also recommending places to eat/check out slong the way
We used this tour company for our Jeep Adventure to Mount Merapi yesterday and would definitely recommend them. Our driver Agung was really nice and friendly - he chatted with us when we felt like talking, and gave us some interesting information about the two main temples, but he also respected us when we felt like sitting in silence. He was a careful and safe driver and he also played some great music on the drive! For some reason I can't review on GetYourGuide, even though we booked through that website, so thought I would leave a review here.
Booked for a Borobudur & Merapi sunrise jeep tour as well as a Lava Viewing at night but things didn’t go as expected. Despite our driver Cahyo being very friendly, he picked us up 30 minutes late which made us miss the sunrise. Then the temple visit and jeep tour were great but because of the cloudy weather, we sadly didn’t even spot Mount Merapi. Same for the Lava Viewing tour, we got back luck, too foggy, didn’t even see the Merapi at all. The 2nd activity was just of waste of time and money… Be aware that when you book a lava viewing tour, the weather is often cloudy so chances to spot lava are not guaranteed.
Super attentive services! My group (2 persons) had two excellent tours organised by this agency. We had a smooth communication exchanging emails with Brian to arrange our itinerary and paid a deposit through paypal. First tour was a daily one starting in the morning from Yoguakarta toward Selogriyo candi, then go to Borobudur and return to Yogyakarta in the evening. Second tour was a half day tour starting from Yogyakarta at noon towards Prembanan candi, then watch the Ramayana show and return to Yogyakarta at night. Overall organisation was excellent. Our driver/guide Mr Dian Akbar was always on time and spoke good English. We highly appreciated his sharing insights into an Indonesian's perspective of daily life apart from the typical cultural info that a traveler may read in travel books. All in all, we are highly satisfied by the services of Mount Merapi Tour and Travel. Furthermore, we are happy that we "booked local". We suggest all fellow travelers consider booking to local travel agencies to support the local economy rather than the international booking agencies. Thanks Brian and Dian!
Roy was a super friendly and helpful guide, made the Mount Merbabu 2D1N trip so much more enjoyable. Porter Tika was just as friendly and made the best dishes for us on the mountain. Was worth every penny, highly recommend this tour operator if you're planning on taking on Merbabu
