Thereās no better way to explore the untouched beauty of Arctic nature than through backcountry skiingāa peaceful and exhilarating journey into Laplandās snowy wilderness. This adventure begins with a professional guide picking you up from Rovaniemi and taking you deep into the Taiga forest, where breathtaking landscapes and pristine snow await. Backcountry skiing differs from alpine or cross-country skiing, as it doesnāt require special boots or groomed trails, making it more accessible and perfect for beginners. The skis are equipped with climbing skins, allowing you to glide comfortably both uphill and downhill without gaining too much speed. Easy to learn and similar in feel to snowshoeing, this activity offers an enjoyable and safe way to immerse yourself in the Arctic environmentāeven if itās your first time on skis.
Your guide will tailor the experience to suit the groupās level, choosing a location that offers both natural beauty and an ideal skiing environment. Before hitting the trails, youāll receive clear safety instructions and tips on how to use the gear properly. During the tour, you'll take a well-deserved break by a warming campfire, where a traditional Finnish snack and warm refreshments will be served. This is the perfect moment to chat with your guide, learn more about life in the Arctic, and soak in the peaceful surroundings. The full experience lasts about four hours, including transportation, skiing (typically 60ā90 minutes), and campfire time. To ensure a high-quality, personalized experience, all tours are limited to a maximum of 8 participantsābecause in the Arctic, smaller groups truly mean bigger adventures.

We went to a total of 3 aurora hunts by 3 different companies and I must say that Adrianās here was our favourite, easily!! He was informative and kind, taking care of our needs (due to the š„¶) while persevering in finding an amazing aurora, which we had to drive to random areas in Sweden for. Due to the distance, the tour extended about 40min past the timing. We really appreciate the experience Adrian created for us. 10/10 - please give him a bonus! ššøš¬ā¤ļøš«š®

Absolutely worthwhile and fantastic services from the counter staff to the guide. Thomas was an awesome guide who tried his utmost to hunt the auroras with us and when we finally caught the massive outbursts of auroras on our way back, he just let us soaked in and enjoyed the moment without rushing us back. Very blessed to catch it!

A huge thank you to Zhaniya and Maxime! š Their enthusiasm is absolutely contagious, and their knowledge about Finland ā especially Lapland ā is truly impressive. They turned my adventure into something magical and unforgettable. Every explanation, every story, and every little detail they shared made me connect even more deeply with this beautiful region. Sorry for writing this 8 months after my trip, but the memories are still so vivid that I just had to share! If youāre looking for guides who combine passion, expertise, and amazing energy, I recommend them and the company 1000% ! šāØ

We booked a frozen waterfall hiking tour. Our group comprised 7 tourists and our Chilean guide Tomas. We had a good time. While we had our own hiking and snow gear, it was available from Wild About Lapland. The van left Rovaniemi at 07:30, making the 90-minute drive to Korouoma with a midpoint rest stop. Tomas was a very smooth driver. We were the first vehicle in the large parking lot. And the first to make footprints in the one inch of new snow on the trails. Tomas led us on the snow-packed hiking trails at a fairly rapid pace, stopping to explain some of the plants and wildlife along the way. We saw no other hikers until about halfway into our tour. About an hour in, we stopped to build a fire, roast sausages, and drink tea and cocoa. Restrooms (pit toilets) were available at the campfire stop. By the time we finished the hike, the parking lot was full, including tour busses. Large groups were entering the park. We napped on the smooth ride back, having gotten our vigorous exercise.

We did the 4h Snowmobile Tour and it was amazing! I can 100% recommend it - our Guide Anne was absolutely amazing and provided an incredible experience while also telling us about some local points and everything we needed to know about the Snow Mobiles. We also stopped at a reindeer farm and could watch some reindeers in a beautiful snowy forest while eating chocolate and drinking tea. Furthermore our group concisted of only 4 people - making the tour really exclusive.
