This tour offers a wonderful opportunity for international visitors to explore the serene beauty of the Danish countryside and enjoy a refreshing escape into nature. The experience goes beyond sightseeing—it's a journey through open fields, peaceful woodlands, and hidden trails that lead you to some of Denmark's most unique artistic treasures. It’s the perfect way to disconnect from the hustle of the city and immerse yourself in the natural charm of the landscape.
Scattered in remote areas around Copenhagen, the six “Forgotten Giants” are part of a public art project that invites visitors on an interactive treasure hunt. Walking through meadows, forests, and small paths to locate these giants adds a sense of adventure to the experience. Each discovery feels rewarding and magical, especially as the sculptures often appear suddenly and unexpectedly in their natural surroundings.
Created by Danish artist Thomas Dambo and his team, the sculptures are made entirely from recycled materials such as scrap wood, plastic, and even cardboard. Known for works like Hector Protector and Troels the Troll, the team specializes in sustainable art that tells a story while promoting environmental awareness. Each giant is not just a sculpture but a symbol of creativity, sustainability, and the playful spirit of Danish outdoor culture.

One of the many forgotten giant! A really nice giant in a nice area. I visited with snow and it was more beautiful but at the same time a little bit of difficulty to go closer because of the ice. It is worth it to visit.

Interesting but perfect spot to 'hide' a giant in plain sight. Part of a park and next to a camping ground, this wooden creature found a place to sleep. Fun activity for a sunny day if you bike there from Copenhagen, like we did.

Loved looking for these sculptures . Took me 2 and half hours walk from centre of copenhagen to get to.this. fabulous how they are hidden , the next one took me another 2 hours to walk to

Very easy to find if you park near the stadium. It's a 2 mins walk from the parking lot, following a gravel path. Once the gravel path turns right, on the left side, you'll see a small hill, and some dirt paths going up the hill. Take that path and you'll be right next to Sleeping Thomas. The sculpture has been designed so it can also be a shelter for the homeless.

The search for the 6 forgotten giants of Copenhagen is really fun. It is not easy to find them all, and they are quite far from each other but it is absolutely worth it. There are still others around Denmark, all made of wood and some even quite hidden. It is a great way to discover places that tourists would not otherwise think of visiting
