This excursion begins at Hotel Hacienda Guachipelín, where you’ll embark on a scenic 45-minute horseback ride through peaceful forest trails to the Las Pailas entrance of the national park. Along the journey, admire the region’s wildlife and sweeping landscapes before arriving at one of Guanacaste’s most extraordinary volcanic areas.
Once inside the national park, continue on foot along the Las Pailas loop trail (3.5 km) and witness the powerful forces of nature up close. Fumaroles release clouds of steam into the air, volcanic mud bubbles loudly in enormous pits, and boiling clay pools create a surreal landscape unlike anywhere else in Costa Rica. A very beautiful location on farm and by sea. My son has been attending the last 6 years and loves it much. The team, Lisa Dandy, is very specialist in therapeutic service. Also, Tina and Naomi. Outstanding riding school. I booked in for a lesson and was looked after so well by Lisa and Naomi. It is a beautiful location, their horses are just the sweetest, I had Paddy an absolute dote. I’ll definitely be back and thanks so much.
This farm is AMAZING!! I was visiting Dublin and decided last minute I’d like to go ride while I was here. Lisa and her team were so kind and welcoming and squeezed me in. The horse I rode, Evan, was so beautiful and kind and all their horses were well behaved and clearly loved and taken care of. Jesse led our trek and did amazing and made sure everyone was comfortable. Truly an unforgettable experience surrounded by kind and caring horse people and lovely horses. Since I was visiting they even had boots and a hat I could wear which was perfect. Though I am an experienced rider, their horses and team would be perfect for all levels and ages.This is the place if you’re looking for a lovely ride through the country or beach!
