Jason was an awesome guide - knowledgeable, humorous and accommodating. So glad I opted for the hike over the buses - apart from the fact they waft diesel fumes all down the glacier (gross), the walk affords you much more time on the ice and items of interest. Highly recommend.
I knew I was in for an adventure but our ice walk was even better than I imagined. I’m certain that this was due to Tamara, our amazing tour guide. She was knowledgeable, friendly, flexible, and of course - safe! If you are in this area, I would totally recommend this “greener” version of experience the glazier without contributing to its disappearance.
This was an amazing experience We did the half day hike and enjoyed every moment. Our guide was very knowledgeable and kept everyone engaged. He shared history of the glacier throughout the hike. I would recommend this to anyone that is planning a trip to Banff or Lake Louise. They provided ice spikes and coats/gloves to those that might need additional gear. It does get cold on the glacier.
I had the best day doing the full day glacier hike! We got to go all the way to the ice fall and up onto it a bit. We saw crevasses and streams and pools and fossils. Our guide was Mike and he was great! I learned a lot, and he did a lot to make sure we could safely see some cool features of the glacier. Met some cool people in the group too! 10/10!
We did the full day tour with Jason. It was really worth it. It took us six hours to get on the glacier and to the most upper place where you can get without further equipment, our guide Jason was very friendly and explained a lot about glaciers in general and this one in particular. It is a pity to watch the glaciers vanish. The tour and the experience was a really great one. Highly recommended.
