Absolutely worth a visit! The cave is massive, and photos don’t do its scale justice. Exploring it is truly awe-inspiring. There’s also a healthy bat population, which adds an interesting touch of wildlife to the experience. A must-see for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike!

Devetàshka Cave is a spectacular natural landmark in northern Bulgaria, near Lovech. Known for its vast entrance and high ceiling pierced by skylights, the cave shelters rare bat species. Archaeological finds reveal human habitation from prehistoric times, making it both a natural and historical treasure.

Maybe it's an unfair comparison, but I visited both Devetashka and Prohodna cave in the same day. Prohodna was much more interesting and completely free, while Devetashka was still great with a very small fee (3 leva-1.5 euro per person-I paid by card). Very nice cave, easily accessible.

Amazing! Incredible, huge (outdoor) cavern/cave complex. Visited on a Monday after some exceptional local rainfall — boots were essential, as it was very muddy (though I don’t think that’s typical). Truly stunning, with ecological importance (massive bat population) matched with a Hollywood back story. Check when visiting as some parts only accessible at certain months of the year. Portaloos available (and clean). Really reasonable entrances cost! Genuinely friendly local artist selling everything from magnets to paintings etc — with no pressure at all.

Ticket 1.53€. Credit card accepted. Portable toilets. Plenty of parking space. Smaller areas were all blocked off to not disturb bats.

Recomendable 100%
