The trip begins with arrival at Sofia airport and transfer to a four star hotel in the capital, followed by a night walking tour with a local guide and a traditional Bulgarian dinner. On the second day, the adventure continues with a hike in Vitosha, reaching Black Peak and exploring the unique Dragalevtsi Monastery on the way down. After a late check out, the journey moves to Plovdiv, the European Capital of Culture, with accommodation in a five star hotel. The third day is dedicated to exploring the hills of Plovdiv and a visit to the Retro Museum in Peshtera, with free time in the afternoon for personal activities. On the fourth day, the tour visits the largest private rose oil distillery in Bulgaria located in the Valley of Roses and the Thracian Kings, followed by an open chair lift ride in Karandila Mountain with breathtaking views. The day concludes with an overnight stay at a boutique hotel with a winery in the Thracian Valley, including a wine tasting and dinner. I did 2 day trips with BulTrips and both were fantastic. The first one was to Plovdiv, Asen's Fortress and Bachkovo Monastery. I absolutely loved it as you were walking through layers of history. The second one was the The Valley of the Thracian Kings. This was a long day trip but well worth it as I was the only one doing it. Alex was a great guide so full of facts about what he was showing me. The company did a great job on both day trips and I definitely would use them again if I ever go back to Bulgaria. They did not disappoint.

Bultrips and Adrian were fantastic to deal with! Excellent and timely communication and a willingness to ensure the multi day tours I chose would reflect my interests. A few days before arrival Adrian informed me that I was the only client for the tours Lucky me! Adrian guided me to fantastic places in nature, and sites of historical significance. I love to hike and he Incorporated some hiking into our destinations.(Thank you!!) Adrian truly wants to make his clients happy and has a wealth of knowledge about history and Bulgaria.

After the wife fell ill and we couldn't go on the original tour, BulTrips went out of their way to get us on a different tour the next day, even though they were not obligated to. 10/10 customer service! We ended up on the Rila Monastery and Boyana Church trip. Daniel was a wonderful guide, very professional and knowledgeable with a great sense of humour!

A review of the small group day trip to Skopje. A picked up promptly by Demo in a Vito van for 8 people. I was the first pick up at 0745 then promptly picked other 7 up and were on our way by 0810. 45 mins on the motorway to single road and then 90 mins to border. All smooth as it was a Sunday. Demo gave us a brief note of places in Sofia and some general history of Bulgaria and also when we were over the border of Macedonia. 10mins at the border to go thought Bulgarian then Macedonian crossing with a toilet stop prior to the border and and then another hour and 45 to Skopje with another 10’mins stop for coffee and toilet 15 mins to our drop off at the holiday inn. He called the Skopje guide in advance and we met her at 1040 Macedonian time or 1140 Bulgarian time. We then walk around the riverside, the mother Theresa house where we had a brief intro by the staff there. Then to the arch de tromp followed by the main square and then old bridge followed by the old bazaar. We then walked upwards to the pasha Mustafa mosque where we could have a short visit inside . Women were scarfs for their hair. We then walked up to the fortress and walked on the walls and then back down to the bazaar where our tour ended at 1240. We had two hours self exploration time. The journey back was smooth , border took a bit longer than the morning. In total it’s 4 hours travel there, 4 hours in Skopje which is adequate, two of which is on a guided tour, and two own time and 4 hours back. The two hours might just let you fit in one or two museums if you had lunch in the go.

Absolutely incredible tour from start to end. Rosen arrived right on time and from the get go he made us feel welcomed and safe. He was extremely knowledgeable, chatty, friendly and we didn't stop chatting the whole 3 hour journey there. Border control was a breeze and before we knew it, we were in Skopje. Mike, our tour guide in Macedonia, was again very knowledgeable, respectful and friendly. He answered any historical questions I had and took us around some of the key sites. We then had two hours to shop and grab some lunch. Plenty of halal options in the Turkish quarter. Rosen was waiting for us exactly where he said he would be. Right on time. And then it was a smooth drive back with endless chat. Our experience was excellent. Rosen is a massive asset to this company. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
