My husband and I did charlottes walking tour our first day in Edinburgh and it was fantastic! A great way to get familiar with the city, learn some history and see some Outlander spots! My husband hadn’t seen outlander but still really enjoyed the tour as it was very history focused. Charlotte was witty and knowledgeable and we had a great time!
Charlotte was personable and knowledge-- she made some spooky/dense history super engaging and fun! I definitely recommend !! Seeing the Outlander sites IRL was such a joy, moreso due to the enriching historical context provided by Charlotte.. awesome tour!
We met our tour guide Charlotte, who took us on the Crime and punishment walking tour. Not only was Charlotte very knowledgeable and charismatic, she was such a pleasure to spend time with. We spent 2 hours on a lovely paced walk finding out different parts of history of Edinburgh and the surrounding area. I was really worried about my mobility issues but Charlotte was very understanding and didn't rush us at all. If you are visiting we would highly recommend you book a tour.
Would highly recommend this tour and in particular, Robert, our guide. The tour covered old town stories. However, a number of the old town events and locations are pertinent to the broader Scottish history and culture. Robert has a remarkable breadth of knowledge of the subject which he conveyed in a most entertaining way.
Ended up having a private one on one tour with Charlotte and it was fantastic! So knowledgeable and fun, really loved getting to know Edinburgh's history. She had so many little stories, impressions and a picture folder which just made the tour even better and made it easy to recall. She even dresses in historically accurate costume! She knew all the good spots to avoid crowds and even had a little sit down in Greyfriars cemetery to break up the walking. Absolute gem of a tour and guide, would highly recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh.
