Beyond Albania’s 11-Day UNESCO Bike Tour—Truly Iconic! Our group of 12 fit and active friends (ranging from 55 to 67 years young) recently completed the 11-day UNESCO Bike Tour with Beyond Albania, and it was, without exaggeration, one of the best tour experiences we have ever shared. This circular path through Albania’s most diverse and stunning natural landscapes were as iconic as advertised. From a logistical standpoint, the trip was flawless. The bikes were excellent—4 of us chose the traditional analog bikes, while the rest of the group enjoyed the support of e-bikes—providing comfort and reliability over varied terrain. And for a group that loves to eat after a long day of cycling, the dinners were outstanding, with the variety, delicious food constantly flowing. The success of the tour rests entirely on the quality of the team, and Beyond Albania delivered the absolute best. Idit, our tour leader, is simply exceptional. His level of historical knowledge added such depth to every site we visited, bringing the ancient ruins and medieval cities to life. He was incredibly knowledgeable, resourceful, and accommodating to our entire group's needs and pace with a great sense of humor. Our driver Gysi was an absolute gem. He was amazing, kind, and genuinely caring. We especially loved seeing his evident love of animals, which added a wonderful, human element to the whole experience. His professionalism and friendly presence made every transfer seamless. For any group of active travelers seeking an adventurous, well-supported, and historically deep cycling adventure, we cannot recommend Beyond Albania enough. We had the most amazing time, and we are already looking forward to considering another tour with them in the future!

My friends and I spent 10 days on the Unesco Tour in Albania. The experience was fabulous. Starting with the pre-tour communications with Erlis; emails were clear and everything was explained thoroughly. The payment and cancellation policies were fair and also clear. On the tour itself, our guide, Idit was well informed, patient and very saftey concious. The electric bikes were good quality, well-maintained and Erlis and Idit looked after the charging of the batteries and made certain everyone had an adequate charge during the hard climbs. The hotels were very good and the food was exceptional. Beyond Albania doesn't emphasize the meals in their advertising; this tour could be billed as a foodie's adventure in Albania. Without exception, the Albanian people we encountered were as helpful as they could be. This was easily the best guided bike trip I have ever been on. Oh, and the scenery was spectacular. I'm looking forward to joining Beyond Albania on their tour through North Macedonia and Kosovo. Thank you for one of the best experiences of my life!

A Trip of a Lifetime! Our UNESCO bike tour through Albania with Beyond Albania was absolutely unforgettable. Erlis and Idit were incredible guides- knowledgeable, kind, and so much fun. Erlis in particular, showed great patience and care, especially with my wife, who’s isn’t a confident cyclist. His encouragement and focus on safety made all the difference, and he always made sure the group was enjoying themselves. The electric bikes made the rides enjoyable for all levels. The mix of easy rural roads and epic climbs kept things exciting without being overwhelmed. The scenery was stunning and the Albanian people were incredibly warm and welcoming. Meals were a highlight- no menus, just sit down and enjoy beautiful, fresh Albanian cuisine, with plenty of vegetables, breads, and hearty dishes. Everything was timely, delicious and plentiful. The coffee stopes were perfectly timed, and the support van was always nearby, making everything smooth and stress free. We explored fascinating UNESCO sites, laughed a lot, made memories that will last a lifetime. Our group of 17, family and friends with the average age 71.4 years old had an absolute blast. If you’re considering this trip- do it with people you love. It’s the best way to experience the beauty, history, and hospitality of Albania. We also did a 4 day mini van tour with Balkan Tours before the bike tour. Sirma and her team with Ilir the tour guide were also amazing. Thank you Erlis and Idit for making it so special!!!!

An incredible experience with breathtaking views, thoughtfully designed routes to inspire and challenge, well-selected hotels and stops on a cycling tour with Beyond Albania. Through winding roads, captivating mountain ranges, from the UNESCO world heritage site of Gjirokastër, Llogara Pass and National Park to the serene shores of the Ionian Sea, all enriched by the genuine hospitality of the locals. Accommodation is perfectly located either centrally in the village or town or with panoramic views of the sea. The culinary experiences—fresh seafood, rich stews, and locally brewed beverages—added a delectable dimension to the journey, making the adventure not only scenic but also an exploration of Albanian culture and heritage. Erlis, the organiser and guide, went over and above to accommodate our two different cycling capabilities on what was originally booked as a self-guided tour, providing local knowledge, historical background and well researched recommendations. Can’t recommend him, the tour and Albania enough, it was amazing!
