This day tour combines some of Iceland’s most iconic natural wonders, offering a rich experience of geysers, waterfalls, lakes, lava fields, and volcanic craters, topped off with a relaxing visit to the famous Blue Lagoon. The journey begins at Þingvellir National Park, a historic site where the Icelandic Commonwealth was founded and one of the best places on earth to witness the North Atlantic Divergent Ridge, where tectonic plates are drifting apart. Next, you’ll visit the Geysir geothermal area to see the spectacular Strokkur geyser erupting up to 20 meters every few minutes, passing by the dormant Geysir itself. After a lunch break, the tour continues to Gullfoss waterfall, regarded as Iceland’s most beautiful waterfall, before heading to Kerið, a volcanic crater lake with strikingly colorful blue-green waters surrounded by vivid red and black slopes.
The day concludes with a visit to the Blue Lagoon, Iceland’s renowned geothermal spa, where you can soak in warm, mineral-rich waters to relax after a day of exploration. Loved what we were able to see. Watched the geysier, waterfalls and rugged shoreline. Lots of walking up and down hills but I am 70 yrs old and the trails are very nice. No problems. Restroom facilities were very clean and easy to get to
