Montevideo, the capital and cultural heart of Uruguay, stands as the country's most influential city and a vital hub in South America. As the administrative seat of MERCOSUR and home to one of the region's busiest ports, Montevideo plays a key role in regional commerce and politics. The city seamlessly blends its rich colonial heritage with modern urban life. In the historic Ciudad Vieja, or Old Town, visitors can stroll along cobblestone streets framed by grand Spanish colonial architecture, with the iconic Plaza de la Independencia serving as the symbolic gateway between past and present. Monuments, museums, and art galleries give voice to the city's vibrant history, while nearby cafés and antique shops offer a nostalgic charm.

Beyond its historic core, Montevideo unfolds into a series of dynamic neighborhoods that showcase the city’s evolving identity. From the upscale elegance of Carrasco to the trendy vibes of Punta Carretas and Pocitos, each district offers something unique—be it luxury shopping, coastal promenades, or a lively culinary scene. The city's location along the Río de la Plata grants it a breezy, relaxed atmosphere, complemented by its beloved Rambla, a 22-kilometer waterfront promenade perfect for walking, cycling, or simply soaking in panoramic views of the river. Montevideo’s blend of European charm, Latin spirit, and coastal serenity makes it one of the most captivating riverfront cities in the world.

Spent 10 nights here and was superb location, service and room. Forgot to add the Concierge staff was so helpful and attentive, one gentleman in particular stands out Diego Vacca. His recommendations and attitude was stellar. He was intuitive and anticipated what I would be looking for and wanted. I was very interested in the architecture and Art Deco aspect of Montevideo. His education and knowledge of the city was so helpful as my background is in structural engineering and he knew how to answer my questions about this beautiful city. I loved his Irish English accent and he tolerated my Cuban Spanish. I love South America, and this is one place I will always remember a long with a new grape I didn't know from Don Pascual Albarino wine. Wish we could buy it here in Atlanta. I will come again next summer and stay again in the Radisson!

Lovely hotel and space - and a great location. Friendly staff, a good gym, and amazing breakfast - with a view! Since we were interested in the old city and not the resort area, this was perfect for us.

This hotel is stuck in the past. Outdated rooms, chipped doors, yellowed switches, and a bathroom straight from the 80s. Zero noise isolation — I now know my neighbors better than some relatives. Every sound, every flush, every… activity. Service doesn’t exist. I called reception four times — no one ever came. Spa? Just one jacuzzi and a bunch of screaming kids. Gym is basic at best. Breakfast was fine, nothing special. Staff struggle with English, which makes any request a guessing game. Only real 5-star thing here is the location and the logo. The rest feels like a tired 3-star hotel in disguise.
