Cuicuilco: A Glimpse Into Mexico’s Ancient Urban Past

Long before the rise of many of Mexico’s better-known civilizations, Cuicuilco emerged as an important urban settlement in the Valley of Mexico. Dating back to around 1500 B.C., the ancient city offers a remarkable window into pre-Hispanic life and the relationship between early communities and their natural surroundings.
