Coastal Wildlife and Lodge Feast

Set out from Sitka for a coastal expedition through the rainforest islands and waters of Sitka Sound. The three hour and forty five minute adventure travels aboard an open air inflatable expedition vessel designed to reach shallow waters that larger boats cannot access. Guests can enjoy close views of the regions rich marine and coastal wildlife while traveling with an experienced captain.

Sitka Sound is known for its impressive variety of wildlife, with opportunities to spot sea otters, whales, sea lions, porpoises, harbor seals, brown bears, puffins and bald eagles. The vessel allows guests to explore scenic island areas and observe the surrounding wilderness from a closer perspective. The experience combines wildlife viewing with spectacular coastal scenery.

The journey also features a memorable meal at Fin Island Lodge. Guests can enjoy Alaska crab, fresh fish, prime rib, assorted side dishes and a chefs choice dessert. Water, lemonade, hot coffee and hot tea are available, while beer and wine can be purchased separately. Guests can also explore the island beaches, relax beside a beach fire and roast smores while enjoying views across Sitka Sound.

Guests should arrive 15 minutes before departure at the Sitka Sound Cruise Terminal on Halibut Point Road. Closed toe shoes are required, and guests should be comfortable walking across wet and uneven terrain. The experience is suitable for guests aged eight and older or those at least four feet tall. Guests with motion sickness may wish to take medication before departure, while dietary requests require at least 24 hours notice.
