A Unique Canoe and Hiking Adventure to Preikestolen

Adventure seekers can experience Preikestolen from a different perspective by combining canoe paddling, hiking and an authentic Norwegian packed lunch. The journey begins with a guide collecting guests from designated locations in Stavanger before stopping at Skafferiet to pick up locally prepared lunches. After arriving at Preikestolen Basecamp, participants prepare for the day before collecting life vests and canoe paddles for the first stage of the adventure.

Following a safety briefing, the group paddles across Revsvatnet before continuing on foot along an old, little-known trail. Away from the crowds of the usual tourist routes, the trail winds through a changing landscape of lakeside paths, ancient forests, wetlands and open mountain terrain. The quieter route offers an opportunity to experience the natural surroundings at a more relaxed pace while enjoying the area's rugged beauty.

The hike takes approximately three hours to reach the main destination: Preikestolen. Along the way, there is plenty of time to adjust clothing and equipment, take breaks, drink water and enjoy the packed lunch. Reaching the dramatic cliff face provides a spectacular reward, with sweeping panoramic views across the fjord and an unforgettable setting for photographs and reflection.

After taking time to enjoy the scenery, the group begins the descent, which normally takes around two and a half hours to reach the parking area. Tired but satisfied, participants return to the vehicle for the journey back to Stavanger. Combining paddling, hiking, local food and a peaceful alternative trail, the experience offers an unusual and memorable way to discover one of Norway's most iconic landscapes.
