This guided 2-hour tour of ancient Pompeii offers a captivating glimpse into the daily life of a Roman city frozen in time by the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. As you walk through the remarkably preserved ruins, you’ll experience firsthand the astonishing urban layout and structures that archaeologists have brought back to light, including homes, shops, public buildings, and places of leisure. Your expert guide will lead you through some of the city's most iconic landmarks, such as the large theater where Roman citizens once gathered for performances, and the bustling ancient shopping street still lined with bakeries and pizzerias that showcase the commercial life of the time. You’ll also explore the luxurious home believed to belong to the richest man in Pompeii, offering a deeper understanding of wealth and social class in the Roman world. The tour continues through the necropolis, the forum—the heart of political and public life—and the well-preserved bath houses that illustrate the city's sophisticated infrastructure. If time permits, the experience includes a stop at a local factory specializing in cameos and coral jewelry, where you’ll learn about this centuries-old Neapolitan craft using coral and seashells to create intricate, hand-carved pieces. This visit adds a cultural and artisanal layer to your exploration, rounding out a journey that seamlessly blends archaeology, history, and tradition in one unforgettable experience.

There is so much to see and learn about Pompeii. A guided tour is a must. Frankie, our guide, combined enthusiasm, humour and an impressive knowledge of the history of Pompeii. He communicates clearly and effectively in English. Grazie Frankie per una giornata fantastica.

This was an amazing tour. Our guide, Frankie, was very knowledgeable about Pompeii’s history. He was also so funny and had a great laugh that everyone in our group was imitating him with his vocal expressions. Definitely do this tour!

Frankie was an absolutely outstanding tour guide. His expert knowledge and insight into the history of Pompeii brought the ancient city to life in a way I’ve never experienced before. He blended fascinating historical facts with just the right amount of humour, keeping the entire group engaged and entertained from start to finish. What really stood out was how easy he made it to stay focused, I felt completely immersed in the tour, hanging on to every word he said. He took the time to answer questions thoughtfully, made sure everyone could hear and follow along, and had a real gift for storytelling that made the ruins feel alive and relevant. Frankie is without a doubt the best and most enjoyable tour guide I have ever had. If you’re visiting Pompeii and want an unforgettable experience, I couldn’t recommend him highly enough.

We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Pompeii. The pick up was on time. Unfortunately, for where we were based, it created a long journey to the site. Not the company’s fault. Paulo the driver, was friendly and efficient. Francessa, our guide, was very informative in an amusing way. She was completely honest about only seeing about a quarter of the site, but after 2 hours of uneven footing, it was enough for us. We arrived at opening time and it was busy, when we left later, it was heaving. Definitely wear comfortable footwear and take plenty of water. Beware of mosquitoes and try and get a day with cloud cover.
