Commemorative Veterans Train Excursion Marks Historic Tribute Journey

A special commemorative train excursion is set to honor United States Veterans, active military personnel, and First Responders during a historic 250th anniversary observance of the adoption of the United States Declaration of Independence. The short daytime journey offers a meaningful and relaxed way for guests to experience scenic landscapes typically inaccessible by road.

Departing at 10 a.m. and returning around 1 p.m., the excursion provides a comfortable mid-morning ride through remote and picturesque areas. A light lunch and beverage are served onboard, allowing passengers to enjoy the experience in a calm and welcoming atmosphere while taking in the surrounding scenery.

Veterans are required to present valid identification during check-in and may bring one guest at a reduced rate, making the trip a shared opportunity for reflection and appreciation. With boarding beginning 30 minutes before departure, early arrival is encouraged so guests can explore depot exhibits and browse available shops.

Safety remains a priority aboard the historic 1940s-era railcars, which feature vintage design and limited accessibility. Passengers should be able to board with assistance if needed and remain seated during movement if unsteady. Service dogs are permitted with prior notice, while pets are not allowed. As the route travels through remote terrain, guests should be prepared for possible delays, changing natural conditions, and gentle train motion that may not be suitable for those with balance or motion sensitivity.
