First Aid Forestry EFAW+F | Polmont

Our Forestry First Aid Efaw+F courses are specifically designed for forest workers, arborists, fencing and stalking contractors, civil engineering teams, recreational hunters, and anyone operating on Forestry Commission land or in rural environments. The courses focus on practical, hands-on training to manage real-life emergencies such as severe bleeding, crush injuries, suspension trauma, hypothermia, and Lyme disease. Participants also learn how to access help in areas without mobile coverage using personal locator beacons, Spot devices, and Inreach Explorer units. Developed in consultation with industry organisations, these courses align with Forestry Commission first aid policies and reflect the latest health and safety standards in remote and hazardous working conditions.

Delivered by full-time outdoor professionals with firsthand experience in remote forestry environments, the training emphasizes practical casualty management, including emergency response procedures, hypothermia care, and effective use of communication devices. As members of the Forest Industry Safety Accord and preferred providers for the Forestry Commission and Scottish Woodlands, we continuously update our course content to cover the most common incidents and near misses in the sector.
