Embark on a mesmerizing 3-day desert adventure from Marrakech to the heart of the Moroccan Sahara, where unforgettable landscapes and cultural treasures await. Your journey begins with a scenic drive through the High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Stop to explore the iconic Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and backdrop to many Hollywood films. Continue to Ouarzazate, often called the “Gateway to the Desert,” where you’ll visit the historic Kasbah Taourirt. After lunch, travel through the fragrant Valley of the Roses to reach the oasis town of Tinghir, where your evening is spent relaxing at a hotel nestled among palm groves and traditional Berber villages.
On day two, venture along the famous Road of 1001 Kasbahs to the breathtaking Todra Gorge, with towering canyon walls perfect for photo stops and peaceful walks. Then travel to the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi near Merzouga, where a camel caravan awaits. Ride through the undulating sands at sunset to reach your desert camp—an enchanting retreat beneath the stars. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, music by the campfire, and the serene stillness of the desert night. The final day begins with a sunrise camel trek before heading back to Marrakech, passing through the Valley of Roses and crossing the majestic Atlas Mountains once more. My wife and I booked the 3-day desert trip from Marrakech to Fes. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience, and Morocco is truly a beautiful country. There were several things we appreciated about the tour: What we liked: 1. Our driver was polite, professional, and very helpful throughout the journey. 2. The local tour guides at the various stops were engaging and fun. 3. The schedule was well-coordinated, and everything ran on time, including hotel check-ins and meeting points. 4. The accommodations provided were good and met our expectations. Areas that could be improved: 1. Lunch stops: We were always taken to specific restaurants that seemed to have preset arrangements with the tour. The menu options were very limited and overpriced for the quality. We wouldn’t have minded paying more if the food, service, or ambience justified the price, but they were consistently average or below average. 2. Itinerary coverage: Several places listed in the itinerary were either skipped or given very little time, for example, only about 10 minutes at the Dades Valley viewpoint and the Ouarzazate studio, and many stops on the Merzouga–Fes route were not made. We understand there are time constraints, but in that case, it would be better not to advertise stops that cannot be properly covered. 3. Vehicle comfort: The air-conditioning in the vehicle was not fully functional, as several vents were not working. Overall good experience.

I decided to take a chance with a local Morrocan company after reading they had been in business for a couple of decades. I was a bit nervous at first but I was very happy with the service. They sent Khalid who is very passionate about his country and very knowledgeable. 3 day and 2 nights to Merzouga, Dades Gorges and High Atlas, we spent another 3 nights visiting other beautiful cities of Morroco. Khalid was very kind and respectable and I would totally use him again for a private tour.

Our trip to the Moroccan desert was truly an unforgettable experience. The camel ride through the Sahara was the highlight of my journey. From the long, winding roads to climbing what felt like a stairway to heaven of Ait Ben Haddou under the blazing Moroccan sun, every moment was remarkable. Mustapha, our driver, guided us safely along the twisting paths of the Atlas Mountains, making the adventure both comfortable and memorable.

We did the 4 day desert tour, spending 2 days in the desert camp with Marrakesh Tours. The experience was quite wonderful. I wholly recommend the experience. Do note, that there are many hours spent getting to and from the desert camp, but they have put together several sights along the way. As there are not only Marrakesh Tour clients in the group, we were able to compare the quality of our package with others. Marrakesh Tours offered an excellent quality for the cost and were exceptionally available in case of questions or needs. If you are looking for the best, they have it.
