A hands-on glassblowing class at the Ohio Glass Museum is drawing interest for allowing visitors to create their own custom-made glass drinkware. The workshop gives participants the opportunity to craft a unique stemless wine glass or rocks glass, blending creativity with traditional glassmaking techniques. The experience begins with participants selecting two colors from a wide display of more than sixty vibrant glass options. Under the guidance of an instructor, the chosen colors are applied to molten clear glass, which forms the base of each piece. This process introduces fundamental glassworking skills in a structured and supervised environment.

Participants then use a blow hose to inflate the molten glass into a shaped vessel, typically measuring between four and six inches in height. Each individual creates a one-of-a-kind piece, with instructors providing close supervision throughout to ensure both safety and successful results. After shaping, the glass is carefully annealed to strengthen it before being made available for pickup on the museum’s next open day.
